I had a few questions about the project so I though I would post a Q&A here...
Q: "I'm just curious how you're planning on doing this Project 365 thing. Are you going to do one page per week or one 2-page layout per week or one page per day or one page per month, etc? I'm really very interested in doing this fun Project 365 and I looked at it on the link, but I want some more insight if you have it."
A: I am planning on doing a 2-page layout per week, although, I may crate a few templates that will allow a 1 page layout for a weeks worth of pictures. I put enough spaces on the first template for 1 title, 7 pictures and 7 journaling spots. I will post my first weeks layout next Sunday so that y'all can see how I am putting it together.
Q: "Just a logistical question though. I am so new to digi....when these pages are completed will you print them into a book? What is the most economical way to go? I see the CK 365 kit (paper) is about $40. I really don't want to go the paper route, but can I afford to print these? Thanks!"
A: I am planning on printing my pages as I go, maybe a month at a time, that way I spread the cost out through the year. I also use a local printer instead of sending them out somewhere. I have found that I can get prints from my local Sir Speedy that are good quality but only cost less than $1.00 each vs. the $2.99 price from Costco. (When I get these printed I ask for a high quality color copy cover stock such as Hammermill 80lb.) I had also considered a book from Shutterfly, but haven't researched the cost of that yet.
I hope this was more helpful than confusing! Again I would love to see your layouts, I don't have the ability yet to have a gallery, but you can post links in the comments and I will go check them out!

what a wonderful idea... I haven't read my CK magazine yet. I can't wait to join in! Thanks for sharing the cute templates!
Oh, I just got a new camera for Christmas and can't wait to start taking pictures. I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old, so I'm very excited to see a year worth of photos! Thank you for the wonderful template to start us out.
I use Artscow.com to get my albums. When you sign up which is free they give you a bunch of prints and credits for calendars and albums. I really like their quality.
I was eyeing up the CK kit, but didn't particuarly like the 12x12 (I scrap 8x8) or the look. I've been dabbling in digi for multi-photo layouts, but when I get busy, I don't touch PSE and then I get rusty. This looks like an excellent way to keep my digi skills growing. Thank you for the template. How many do you think you'll make?
Hey M.. I recently found your blog and I am in love. I had a question for you about your template 45 layout. Are the frames around the pictures something you did your self or are they downloaded ones. I love the curled edge and distress. I would to know how you did that.
Well, I just commented on your previous post that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the 365 project, but after going to Becky's blog I'm a little motivated. She has a video on there of what the album looks like with the page protector slots and I can totally see that as a template and then choosing one of your favorite designer's kits (or several) to make the whole year a consistent look. Are you going to use this to replace your other scrapping like Becky, or in addition to???
Thanks so much for the reply! I am the poster that asked about the cost. I definitely can see printing monthly instead of all at one time. That makes a lot of sense. I haven't taken my pic for today, so I'm off to do so! Thanks a million! This project totally has me motivated!
On printing...I print my books with blurb. I can do a hundred page book for about a hundred dollars. It's a good deal and they do a great job of printing. (The book is coffee table size, 13x11). It's priced by the page...I just generally end up with a hundred. Check them out at blurb.com.
Thanks for the template~ (bneckels@grandecom.net)
I get books printed from www.viovio.com and have been very happy so far. The cost is about $.30 per page with the flat fee and hard cover added on for an 80 page book! So far it is the cheapest actual bound book I've found.
when you do look at printing options, be sure to check out blurb.com...I really like Shutterfly, and have used them several times, but blurb will do more pages for cheaper, also in paper back, which if it's going to be taken care of it might be kind of like a cool coffee table book, even in paperback. Just a suggestion.
sorry, should have read all the comments first before repeating something. I guess it's good to have a second nod at blurb. :)
I commented on the template link, but I forgot one item that you were thinking about.
I am going to use a 3 ring binder like we used in Jessica's Stories in Hand class- 8 X 8 since I am printing at home.
Thanks for your Q/A - this is going to be a really fantastic project. The way I understand it, you will be giving us 52 two page templates and we are free to use whatever scrapping resources to complete the pages. That will be a total of 104 pages.
I also would suggest a cover page and last page - so it would be 106 pages.
For those having trouble doing a photo everyday, may I suggest that one could also think of it as 52 weeks of scrapping and add 7 photos from each week to the pages. Might take some of the pressure off taking photos each day but still provide the inspiration and incentive to complete two pages per week!
Thanks a million for getting this started and so generously providing templates each week.
I love Viovio.com to get my books printed too. I've been really happy with them. I printed a 10x10with 98 pages and including shipping it was about $55.
Cute templates!
I'm so glad to see these questions being answered. I, too, have some of my own. However, I will say that I will print through Heritage Makers in one book. It is cheaper than doing it traditionally and you don't have to own any software. It's online so I can do it wherever I am, even on vacation! Very cool! Check out....

As for the questions, do you intentionally take pictures of "unusal" things or things that highlight what you did that day? Just curious I guess.
I also think about formatting. How would I do this so that it captured the essence of the photo without taking up too many pages? I've seen some pretty symmetrical designs (no real embellishments). Just wondering here too how to keep it interesting enough with such a varied topic of photos and the sheer number of photos too!!
Thank you! Thank you!
That's quite a project to take on for a full-time working mom of 2 very energetic toddlers, but I'm going to try! Thanks for your inspiration and for your templates!
This is a wonderful idea. Thank you for the fabulous templates. I need to be motivated to get back to scrapping and I am hoping a project like this will help me focus on scrapping again.
DeDe Smith has created a kit for this type of project. There is info on her blog here: http://designzbydede.blogspot.com/
I hope it is all right to share that here. Just thought some might be interested.
Thanks again and hugs!
